Camera Exposure Modes

Camera’s have different types of exposure modes for different types of shooting priorities.

1.Auto Mode: 

  • In Auto Mode, Camera has the Full Control. It adjusts exposure settings like Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO to get a proper exposure.
  • Use this Auto Mode, particularly when you are a beginner and also when you are out of time, quickly wanna take photo’s.

 

2. Program Mode (P):

  • Program Mode is also known as Semi-Automatic Mode, takes the command from the user as well as the automation.
  • In this Mode, you can either adjust the Aperture or Shutter Speed according to your needs, and then the Camera will adjust the other adjustment through automation.

3. Aperture Priority Mode (A or Av):

  • In Aperture Priority Mode, User will have to adjust Aperture according to their desire.
  • And the Camera will adjust the Shutter Speed accordingly.
  • Use Aperture Priority Mode, when you know exactly what f-stop that you wanna use.

4. Shutter Priority Mode (S or Tv):

  • In Shutter Priority Mode, the User can adjust the Shutter Speed according to their desire.
  • And the Camera will adjust the Aperture accordingly to maintain a proper exposure.
  • Use Shutter Priority Mode, when shooting fast moving objects, because it freezes the action without any motion blur.

5. Manual Mode:

  • All the Professional Photographer’s use the Manual Mode, because the Manual Mode provides full control to the user to adjust the Exposure settings like Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, White Balance, Focus and many more…
  • Basically the user will have the full authority and the user can experiment different exposure adjustment’s. And they can also adjust the setting’s based on different lighting condition’s.
  • Use this Mode, when you know, how to properly adjust the Exposure Triangle like Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO.
